News: Pineda allowed four runs and 10 hits, while striking out two over 7.1 innings against Tampa Bay on Thursday. He did not issue a walk, throwing 76 of 96 pitches for strikes. Impact: Pineda pitched better than his stat line would indicate, as Yunel Escobar hit a pair of homers off of him to account for all the damage. While it's not a big simple size, Pineda entered Thursday's start with great numbers at home, posting a 1.08 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in 25 innings. He'll make two starts next week, one on the road against the Rays, and then against Toronto in Yankee Stadium.(RotoWire, )

News: Pineda dazzled Friday night, allowing one unearned run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts in seven innings, but was a hard-luck loser in a 1-0 loss to Kansas City. Impact: Pineda (3-4, 1.80 ERA) has come back strong and will continue to be a key component of the Yankees rotation if they are going to challenge for a playoff spot. He'll take on the Rays in Yankee Stadium next time out.(RotoWire, )
