News: Scherzer was charged with six runs (five earned) on nine hits, with 11 strikeouts versus zero walks over 6.2 innings, in a loss to the White Sox in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader. Impact: The reigning AL Cy Young winner has now given up 12 earned runs in his last three outings (18.2 innings), raising his ERA close to 30 points over that span (from 2.98 to 3.26). Scherzer's still missing bats at a good clip, but he may have a hard time getting back on track in his next scheduled start, Thursday at Cleveland. The Indians have gotten to Scherzer for 10 earned runs on 24 hits in 18.2 innings so far this season (three starts).(RotoWire, )

News: Scherzer lasted only five innings in Sunday's win over Minnesota. He allowed seven hits and three earned runs while striking out four and walking one. Impact: Scherzer sailed through the first two innings, but ran into issues in the bottom of the third, as he surrendered five hits and three earned runs in the frame. While we didn't see a vintage Scherzer performance Sunday, he's still rocking a 3.13 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 209:55 K:BB ratio in 181 innings this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Scherzer shook off a rocky first two frames to go seven innings Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts at Tampa Bay. Impact: Scherzer set the bar high coming into Tuesday's turn by striking out 25 batters and allowing seven hits, two walks and one run over his last 16 innings, but he was generally effective against the Rays. His major mistake came in the bottom of the first, when he served up a three-run homer to James Loney, but he allowed only two runners to reach base over his final five frames.(RotoWire, )
