News: Bumgarner pitched a one-hitter Tuesday against the Rockies, tying a career high with 13 strikeouts and no walks to improve to 15-9. Impact: Bumgarner absolutely painted the strike zone all night, pumping in 80 of his 103 for strikes in one of the season's most impressive pitching performances. Incredibly, he generated 15 0-2 pitch counts, allowing him to rack up the Ks despite the relatively economical pitch total. If not for Justin Morneau's eighth-inning double, Bumgarner would have notched the majors' first perfect game of the season.(RotoWire, )

News: Bumgarner pitched well Thursday against the Cubs, allowing three runs and seven hits over seven innings. He issued just one walk and struck out a season-high 12 batters. Impact: Bumgarner gave up three runs in the first inning, but settled down nicely. He did run into some trouble in the seventh inning, letting the first two hitters reach base safely, but wiggled out of things with a couple of strikeouts. The young lefty hit a rough patch from late June into the middle of July, but has been fantastic in his last seven starts, posting a 2.39 ERA and 51:6 K:BB over 49 innings. He's scheduled to make home starts next week against the Rockies and Brewers.(RotoWire, )
