News: Gausman limited Seattle to a run and seven hits over 6 2-3 innings in Baltimore's 2-1 road win Friday, though he didn't factor into the decision. Impact: Though Gausman owns a 3.67 ERA, he isn't much of a fantasy asset unless you're very desperate. He only averages 6.43 strikeouts per nine innings and has won just once in his last five starts.(STATS, 6:09pm)

News: Gausman pitched 6.2 innings on Friday facing the Mariners as he walked three and struck out three while only allowing one run during the game. Impact: The rookie youngster pitched well enough for the quality start as he kept Mariners' hitters at bay for the night. Gausman didn't get the decision but he certainly pitched well enough as manager Buck Showalter had no problem having his young pitcher hurl 103 pitches on the night. Gausman will next take the mound on Thursday against the Angels.(RotoWire, )

News: Gausman allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out six in four innings in the Orioles' 10-2 loss to the Athletics on Sunday. Impact: The 23-year-old let in five runs for the third time this season in just eight starts. Outside of those three games, he's allowed four runs in five outings. Despite taking the loss, Gausman is 4-3 on the year. He's been up and down from the minors all season, and this start won't help his case to stay in the rotation for the rest of the season.(RotoWire, )

News: The Orioles do not plan to put an innings cap on Gausman during the second half, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: After shuttling between the minor leagues and the big club several times already prior to the All-Star break, Gausman was effectively on an innings count for most of the first half, compiling only 83.2 frames between Double-A, Triple-A and the big leagues. However, it appears manager Buck Showalter is ready to take the kid gloves off Gausman, who should be in the rotation to stay as the Orioles chase down their first AL East crown since 1997. He's had good success during his seven turns with the Orioles so far this year, going 4-2 with a 3.29 ERA and 1.25 WHIP, and could become the team's de facto ace with Chris Tillman mostly struggling this season and Ubaldo Jimenez not living up to expectations after signing a massive deal in the offseason.(RotoWire, )

News: Gausman allowed one run in five innings for a cheap complete game. Impact: The game was shortened by rain. "It's great," Gausman said. "Complete game in 78 pitches. I think that's got to be a record." (STATS, 2:55pm)

News: Gausman earned a win by allowing one run on four hits in a rain-shortened five-inning performance against the Yankees on Sunday. Impact: Gausman may also get credit in some leagues for the complete game. Brett Gardner greeted him with a solo home run to lead off the game, but Gausman settled down and did not give up another run while throwing 47 of 78 pitches for strikes. He'll remain with the Orioles after the All-Star break and he will not have an innings limit in the second half of the season.(RotoWire, )
