News: Smoak was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday and is in the starting lineup at first base, batting sixth, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports. Impact: Smoak will replace Michael Saunders on the active roster, who went on the disabled list with a strained left oblique. He hit .284/.365/.459 with the Triple-A club, and will look to carry those numbers with him to the big-league club. The 27-year-old could see starts at first base if the Mariners decide to slide Corey Hart and Logan Morrison into the outfield and DH spots, which seems like a possible outcome.(RotoWire, )
