News: Beckett (hip) has been activated for his scheduled start Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Impact: The move comes as little surprise as the Dodgers have had Beckett slotted in to face Vance Worley and the Pirates for at least a few days. News: Beckett lasted just 3.2 innings Tuesday, giving up four earned runs on six hits -- including three homers -- while striking out four for no decision against the Pirates. He did not issue a walk. Impact: After he retired the side in the first inning, Neil Walker and Ike Davis took Beckett deep in the second before Gregory Polanco and Walker tacked on two more runs in the third with another homer and a double. The veteran hadn't pitched since July 6, missing a couple starts with a hip injury, so some rust was expected, but owners would prefer him to keep the ball in the ballpark. Beckett will have his work cut out for him in his next start Tuesday versus the Braves at Dodger Stadium.(RotoWire, )

News: Beckett (hip) has been confirmed as Tuesday's starter, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. Impact: Beckett continues to deal with several hip injuries that don't sound particularly comfortable, but will continue to play through the pain and pitch nonetheless. He'll take on Vance Worley and the Pirates in his first start since July 6.(RotoWire, )

News: Beckett (hip) has a torn labrum and two cysts in his hip, but he's expected to try and pitch through it starting Tuesday, the Dodgers' official website reports. Impact: That doesn't sound too promising, but Beckett seems to think he'll be okay. He'll likely need another shot should the pain flare up and he'll remain a risky play the rest of the way.(RotoWire, )

"We feel like he's going to make it," Mattingly said.
