News: The Dodgers transferred Beckett (hip) to the 60-day disabled list Saturday. Impact: Beckett revealed Friday that he wouldn't pitch again this season, so Saturday's move was primarily procedural. He posted a 2.88 ERA in 20 starts this season but was again limited by injuries, so it remains to be seen what his next step will be.(RotoWire, )

News: Beckett (hip) said Friday that he is done for the season, the L.A. Times' Dylan Hernandez reports. Impact: Beckdett said that he will talk with his wife about his future, but hip surgery will be necessary for him to pitch again. He holds little value in dynasty leagues with his future so uncertain, and he should have already been dropped in most single-season leagues.(RotoWire, )

News: Manager Don Mattingly announced Wednesday that Beckett's (hip) season is likely over, Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times reports. "I think the timing of him being able to get back is probably not very possible at this point, that we're going to be able to see him again this year," Mattingly said. Impact: Beckett was one of the surprise performers through the first half of the season, posting a 2.02 ERA and tossing his first career no-hitter after returning from surgery to treat thoracic outlet syndrome. He saw his performance dip after the All-Star break and has been out since Aug. 8 with the hip impingement, with the Dodgers closing the door on a possible return after an unsuccessful session of catch last week. It's unknown at this time if Beckett will opt for surgery to rectify the hip issue in the offseason, but either way, the soon-to-be free agent will likely have to settle for a one- or two-year deal in the winter due to his health concerns.(RotoWire, )
