News: Singleton is not expected to start any of the Astros' final three games, the Houston Chronicle reports. Impact: Singleton's last hit came all the way back on Sept. 9, as he's 0-for-his-last-23 with 18 strikeouts over that span. The 23-year-old admitted that it's been a "very difficult" way to end his rookie campaign, and he'll likely be relegated to pinch-hit duty for the entire Mets series, unless Chris Carter's nagging lower-back injury presents issues. Singleton has hit just .168/.287/.336 with 13 homers and 133 strikeouts in 92 games with the big club, after inking a long-term extension with the team in early June.(RotoWire, )
