Nonetheless, the 27-year-old has looked steady in his two starts this year after a lengthy recovery from elbow surgery, allowing just a single earned run while walking three and fanning seven in nine innings against Kansas City and Boston. News: The Tampa Bay Rays have recalled right-hander Jeremy Hellickson from Single-A Charlotte and designated reliever Juan Carlos Oviedo for assignment. Impact: The moves were announced Saturday. Hellickson, coming back from right elbow surgery in January, was brought back to make his second big league start of the season Saturday night against Boston. He was optioned to the minors on July 13 to stay on a regular schedule when the Rays needed just four starters due to a number of off days. (STATS, 3:22pm)

News: Hellickson will be called back up from the minors to start for the Rays on Saturday, the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: After making his season debut for the Rays back on July 8, Hellickson was sent down to the minors in order to maintain a typical work schedule during the All-Star break.
