News: Paxton (back) is slated to pitch another rehab start Sunday at Triple-A Tacoma, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. Impact: Paxton reported that he emerged OK from a three-inning appearance at the affiliate Tuesday, during which he allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk to go with four strikeouts in three frames. As he embarks on the final stages of his recovery from an inflamed left shoulder, a number of moving parts must line up correctly for him to land in the Mariners' rotation. However, a spot start is all but assured at some point before season's end.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) still get at least one more start at Triple-A Tacoma after Tuesday's outing, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports. Impact: After missing more than three months with the back ailment, Paxton will be brought along slowly before the Mariners feel comfortable bringing him back into the rotation. He likely will replace either Tiajuan Walker or Roenis Elias in the rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) is expected to return to the Mariners within the next two weeks, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports. Impact: Paxton came through Thursday's rehab outing at short-season Everett feeling pain-free and will now progress to Triple-A Tacoma, where he'll be held to a roughly 60-pitch count Tuesday. The Mariners are tentatively planning to have Paxton increase that count to 75 in his next start with Tacoma. If all goes smoothly during his next two outings, Paxton would get the call to rejoin the rotation in early August, though it's unclear at this time whom he might replace.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) had a bullpen session Saturday and said he's feeling no soreness following his first rehab appearance, according to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times. Impact: Paxton allowed two runs in 2.2 innings during his rehab start Thursday, but the important thing is that he's pitching again and seems to be pain free. His next rehab start is slated for Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) will make his next rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Tacoma, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports. Impact: The Mariners will bring Paxton to Anaheim so that he can throw a bullpen with the team on Saturday, but then he'll head out with Tacoma for his next rehab start. His progress coming back from this injury has been excruciatingly slow, so it would be silly to say a return to the Mariners is imminent, but it certainly looks that way.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) is slated to throw three innings in his rehab start for short-season Everett on Thursday, the Everett Herald reports. Impact: Originally sidelined by a strained lat muscle in early April, Paxton developed stiffness in his triceps after a rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma in late May, which forced the Mariners to shut the left-hander down again. He's finally been cleared to pitch in a game following a successful 53-pitch simulated outing Saturday, and if all goes well in his start for Everett on Thursday, he'll return to Tacoma to complete his rehab.(RotoWire, )

News: Paxton (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday, which precedes a rehab assignment this coming week at short-season Everett, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
