News: Peavy was hit with the loss in his Giants debut Sunday after allowing four runs (three earned) over six innings. Impact: Two errors from Dan Uggla sure didn't help. Peavy is worthy of a large FAAB bid in NL-only leagues this week, but he's now 1-10 with a 4.71 ERA on the year, so don't expect the Peavy of a few years ago simply due to the AL/NL switch.(RotoWire, )

News: A person with knowledge of the trade says the San Francisco Giants are working to finalize the acquisition of right-hander Jake Peavy from the Boston Red Sox for a pair of minor league pitchers. Impact: Details were still being worked out Saturday, and the person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side had announced the swap. San Francisco will send right-hander Heath Hembree and lefty Edwin Escobar to the World Series champion Red Sox. Peavy (1-9, 4.72 ERA) could be in the Giants' rotation as soon as Sunday night for the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers at AT&T Park.(STATS, 12:47pm)

News: Peavy will make his debut with the Giants on Sunday against the Dodgers, CSN Bay Area's Amy Gutierrez reports. Impact: Peavy was acquired from Boston on Saturday for prospects and will replace Yusmeiro Petit in the rotation. Matt Cain remains on the 15-day DL and his exact timetable for return is unknown, but if Peavy were to pitch well, it would seem likely he would remain in the rotation for the remainder of the season. The trade is certainly a boon for Peavy's owners, as his numbers are much better against National League teams and he has a 2.21 ERA in 25 career starts against the Dodgers.(RotoWire, )

News: The Red Sox agreed to trade Peavy to the Giants on Saturday, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports. Impact: It's not clear who exactly the Red Sox are getting in return, but they will reportedly receive a couple minor league pitchers. Peavy has struggled to the tune of a 4.72 ERA and 1.43 WHIP through 20 starts this season, but his 12.6 percent HR/FB rate figures to improve with the move to AT&T Park, and he'll get to pitch in a division that includes the Rockies, Diamondbacks and Padres. For his career, Peavy has posted a 3.29 ERA in the National League, as opposed to a 4.13 ERA in the AL.(RotoWire, )

News: Peavy's winless stretch extended to 15 starts with Tuesday's 7-3 loss at Toronto as he gave up five runs and eight hits over 6 1-3 innings. Impact: Peavy hasn't resembled his usual self much at all this season, going 0-9 with a 5.34 ERA during his 15-start winless streak.(STATS, 1:25pm)

News: Peavy dropped to a dismal 1-9 on Tuesday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits -- two of them homers -- across 6.1 innings against the Jays. He also walked three and fanned seven. Impact: Poor Jake Peavy. This guy has just a single win in 20 (!) starts this season. It certainly hasn't helped that he's tied for second among AL pitchers for most homers allowed (20), or that his 43 walks in 117.2 innings have him on pace to surpass his career-high 82 set as a sophomore with the Padres in 2003. He'll take another shot at his first win since April 25 when he faces the Rays in his next start Sunday.(RotoWire, )

News: Peavy had a solid outing Saturday against Houston but didn't get enough support again in a 3-2 defeat. Impact: Peavy allowed six hits and three runs with a season-high nine strikeouts in seven-plus innings, but extended his career-long losing streak to eight games. He hasn't won since April 25 as the Red Sox have given him 27 runs in his last 14 starts. He's gotten nine runs of support in his past seven games. (STATS, 1:39pm)
