News: Hardy was removed from Monday's game against the Twins in the eighth inning due to a lower back spasm. Impact: Hardy finished the day 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and one run scored, and as an exchange, Ryan Flaherty entered to cover shortstop. Because the extent of the injury is unclear, consider Hardy day-to-day for the time being.(RotoWire, )

News: Hardy (back) hopes to return to action Tuesday versus the Twins, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Impact: After Tuesday's early departure, Hardy relayed that his back was tight, but didn't that it didn't lock up. Though that would seem to be a good sign, a similar ailment forced six absences in a seven-game span in early April of this season, so the Orioles may be inclined to tread carefully. He should be considered day-to-day, but even if he isn't in the lineup Tuesday, he should be back in short order.(RotoWire, )
