News: Ryu (leg) will start Sunday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Impact: With the strained glute muscle presenting no issues for Ryu during a bullpen session Wednesday, the training staff has signed off on the lefty returning Sunday when first eligible. In his first start back, he'll face a Padres team that he's held to one run on nine hits over 19 innings (three starts) this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (glute) will start Sunday if he passes more tests Friday night, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. Impact: Ryu will take Kevin Correia's turn in the rotation if assuming he passes all the tests thrown at him Friday. He has been on the disabled list Aug. 15, so he will be rejoining the team in the minimum amount of time required if he does in fact make the start Sunday.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (strained glute muscle) felt no pain while throwing a two-inning simulated game Wednesday, and looks poised to rejoin the Dodgers' rotation on Sunday or Monday, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. Impact: He is eligible to return from the DL on Friday, but Dan Haren and Zack Greinke are already confirmed as the starters on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Ryu threw free and easy Wednesday, and also practiced covering first base without incident. He has been dynamite against the Padres this season, giving up one run in 19 innings, so fantasy owners would probably prefer him to start Sunday, but the Dodgers would not be forced to make a roster if they started Ryu Monday against the Nationals, as rosters expand Monday. Manager Don Mattingly said a decision will come Thursday regarding which day Ryu will return to the rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (glute) could start Sunday against the Padres, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: Ryu completed another bullpen session Tuesday and if he makes it through Wednesday's live session without issue, he may be cleared to take the hill for the weekend finale against San Diego. The lefty has not yet thrown at maximum effort, so a return Sunday should not be viewed as a certainty, but Ryu said Tuesday that he is not experiencing any lingering pain from the pulled glute muscle.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (glute) is slated to throw a simulated game Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 FOX Sports LA reports. Impact: Ryu got another bullpen session under his belt Tuesday, and while he did not feel any pain, he still wasn't throwing at full effort. That should change Wednesday, as the live session may very well be his last time throwing on the side before returning to the Dodgers' rotation. While he's eligible to return from the DL on Friday, this seems to set him up for a return next Monday against the Nationals.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (leg) will throw another bullpen session Tuesday, after which the team should have a better idea when he will be able to return, the Dodgers' official site reports. Impact: Ryu could start as early as Friday, but don't be surprised to see him get pushed back a couple days depending on how things go this week.(RotoWire, )
Fri. Aug 22, 2014
News: Ryu (glute) threw another bullpen session Friday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. Impact: A Grade 1-2 glute strain forced Ryu onto the DL last week, but he seems to be progressing nicely, having now thrown bullpen sessions on back-to-back days. While he's not throwing with maximum effort just yet, Ryu appears on track to return shortly after he's eligible Aug. 29.(RotoWire, )

News: Ryu (leg) threw off the mound in the bullpen Thursday, Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles reports. Impact: Ryu remains on track to return roughly by the end of the month, as expected. It doesn't sound like he'll require a rehab assignment, so get ready to deploy the lefty as soon as he's back in action.(RotoWire, )
Wed. Aug 20, 2014
News: Ryu (leg) is not expected to need a minor league rehab assignment, leaving him on target for a return at the end of the month, the Dodgers' official site reports. Impact: Good news for a reeling Dodgers rotation. Ryu played catch on Wednesday and should be used in all formats upon his return.(RotoWire, )
Tue. Aug 19, 2014
News: Ryu played catch before Tuesday's game to test his pulled glute muscle, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. Impact: There has been no official timetable disclosed, but the fact that he has started a throwing program, and that the injury is not an arm or a shoulder opens the door for a return when he's eligible at the end of August.(RotoWire, )
