News: Ramirez (upper body) was activated from the 15-day disabled list and is in the lineup Sunday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: Ramirez has returned to the lineup, as expected, and is manning his usual spot at shortstop Sunday. News: Ramirez (oblique) is expected to be "ready to go" by Sunday, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: Ramirez has already taken batting practice on back-to-back days, and it sounds like he's nearing 100 percent with respect to his swing. He won't be eligible to return from the DL officially until Monday, but the fact that he'll be ready for activation by Sunday is an encouraging sign. Look for him to resume his regular role at shortstop, but it's also been speculated he may see occasional reps at the hot corner.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (oblique) took batting practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. Impact: We still think Ramirez will return to the shortstop position rather than move to third base as has been speculated. He's eligible to be activated on Monday.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (oblique) is swinging at 90 percent, according to manager Don Mattingly, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Ramirez appears to be nearing a return, which is tentatively scheduled for late next weekend. Although Ramirez was recently seen taking ground balls at third base, manager Don Mattingly downplayed that idea Sunday, suggesting that he will continue his regular role at shortstop. Upon the return of Ramirez, Miguel Rojas will likely go back to a bench role.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (oblique) could move to third base once he returns from the disabled list next week, the Dodgers' official site reports. Impact: With Juan Uribe sidelined for the next couple weeks with a tight hamstring, the best defensive alignment would be Ramirez at third and Miguel Rojas at shortstop. Ramirez has been taking ground balls at third recently, so look for this to happen. Now if the Dodgers could only combine Rojas' glove with Alex Guerrero's bat, they'd really have something.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (oblique) did some throwing on Wednesday, but has yet to swing a bat, the Dodgers' official site reports. Impact: He's eligible to return on Aug. 25, and it seems likely Ramirez will be pretty close to that target.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (oblique) is still expected to return in 7-10 days, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: Ramirez began throwing Wednesday, confirming the fact that his strained oblique is considered to be a relatively minor injury. Sometimes these types of ailments can put a player on the shelf for up to a month, but the Dodgers clearly don't believe that this will be the case here. Miguel Rojas will continue to start at shortstop in the meantime, but don't expect Ramirez to miss much more than the minimum required absence.(RotoWire, )
