News: Ramirez went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday in the Dodgers' win over the Giants, and he finished the three-game series 6-for-13 with three RBI. Impact: A healthy Ramirez should be a productive Ramirez going forward. He'll continue to have plenty of RBI opportunities batting cleanup.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez posted his second straight multi-hit game Saturday against the Giants, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double. Impact: Ramirez is up to .278/.374/.466. With 11 home runs, he has nine fewer home runs than last year in just five more at-bats. At least he appears healthy at this point.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (hand) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Friday against the Giants, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact: As of Wednesday, Ramirez was still unable to swing a bat due to the injured left hand, and manager Don Mattingly said he was not optimistic the 30-year-old would be able to return following Thursday's off day. However, Ramirez is penciled in to man short and bat fourth Friday against right-hander Tim Lincecum. In 22 career at-bats against Lincecum, Ramirez has seven hits (.318 average), including one homer.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (hand) remains unable to swing a bat, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Ramirez was able to pick up a bat and move it around a bit, but the fact that he still cannot take full swings is concerning. This report also doesn't bode well for the shortstop's chances of returning to the lineup and contributing this weekend. If Ramirez is unable to get some cuts in soon, a DL stint will continue to look like a stronger possibility.(RotoWire, )

News: Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he is not optimistic that Ramirez (hand) will be able to return to the lineup Friday against the Giants, although it is not out of the question, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. Impact: Mattingly said Yasiel Puig (hand) is more likely to return after the Dodgers' off day Thursday than Ramirez. It doesn't sound very promising that owners will get much production from Ramirez this weekend, and we can't rule out a potential DL stint for Ramirez if his absence drags into next week.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (hand) is out of the lineup again Wednesday, AM 570's David Vassegh reports. Impact: He was unavailable to pinch hit Tuesday, and predictably will miss his third straight game with the hand injury. He hit in the cage Tuesday, and could be back by the weekend, as X-rays were negative and the Dodgers have an off day Thursday.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (hand) remains out of the starting lineup Tuesday night. Impact: Like teammate Yasiel Puig, it's unclear if Ramirez is available to pinch hit Tuesday night. Justin Turner will make another start at short for the Dodgers on Tuesday night.(RotoWire, )
Tue. July 22, 2014
News: The Los Angeles Dodgers held injured outfielder Yasiel Puig and shortstop Hanley Ramirez out of the starting lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but manager Don Mattingly doesn't believe either player needs to go on the disabled list. Impact: Ramirez took a 98 mph fastball off his left wrist on Sunday from St. Louis closer Trevor Rosenthal. Mattingly said he's optimistic both players will be available to pinch hit on Tuesday night and called them ''day to day.'' (STATS, 6:15pm)
Tue. July 22, 2014
News: Ramirez said that his injured hand is feeling better and that he plans to hit in the cage Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Just as Ramirez seemed to finally be putting his nagging shoulder ailment behind him, he was hit on his left hand by a Carlos Martinez pitch Sunday. X-rays were negative, but it wouldn't be a surprise if Ramriez remained limited the next few days.(RotoWire, )
Mon. July 21, 2014
News: Ramirez (hand) is out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates. Impact: Ramirez expressed confidence in his ability to play in this game, but manager Don Mattingly will hold him out an extra day as a precaution. No word has arrived yet on whether he will receive extra tests, but Ramirez will likely look to return to the lineup within a day or two. Justin Turner will man shortstop in his stead.(RotoWire, )
Mon. July 21, 2014
News: X-rays on Ramirez's injured hand came back negative Monday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Though Ramirez will sit out Monday and possibly a few additional games as he continues to experience soreness with his hand, the Dodgers have to be relieved that the shortstop sustained no structural damage. Ramirez has toed a fine line this season with various injuries costing him several games, but he's never landed on the disabled list. The Dodgers seem optimistic he'll be able to avoid such a fate yet again.(RotoWire, )
Mon. July 21, 2014
News: Ramirez (hand) expects to play Monday night against the Pirates, but Dodgers manager Don Mattingly wasn't willing to commit yet to Ramirez being able to play, the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Frequently a player will take a more optimistic stance than the team regarding an injury, so this is nothing new. We'll await word whether Ramirez will undergo further exams in Pittsburgh before Monday night's game.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez left Sunday night's win over the Cardinals after getting hit by a pitch on the left hand, the second time he was hit in the game. Initial X-rays on the hand were negative, the L.A. Times reports. Impact: Ramirez was also hit by the Cardinals in the NLCS last year. The second HBP came with a tie game in the ninth on an 0-2 count, making it unlikely that it was intentional - small solace for the Dodgers if they are to go without Ramirez's services for any significant period of time.(RotoWire, )

News: Ramirez (shoulder) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Friday against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: After yet another setback with Ramirez's shoulder last Thursday, the 30-year-old was treated with a cortisone injection and he missed the team's final three games of the first half as a result. Ramirez will return Friday -- to shortstop and the three-hole in the order -- to take on right-hander Lance Lynn, but the Dodgers could always opt to give him another maintenance day in the near future.(RotoWire, )
