News: Stanton will make just $6.5 million in the first year of his record $325 million, 13-year contract with the Miami Marlins. The deal with the All-Star outfielder, to be formally announced at a news conference Wednesday, includes a $25 million club option for 2028 with a $10 million buyout. Impact: Stanton will earn $107 million over the first six seasons of the deal, according to contract information obtained by The Associated Press. Impact: Stanton's contract includes a full no-trade clause, and an option to opt out after six years (after the 2020 season). News: Stanton and the Marlins are closing in on a deal worth $325 million over 13 years -- including an opt-out window after five years, CBS Sports reports. Impact: In addition to being able to opt out at age 30, Stanton will have a full no-trade clause as well. The contract is the largest in North American sports history -- passing the $275-million contract that Alex Rodriguez received from the Yankees at age-32.
