News: Brown (illness) is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves, Jim Salisbury of reports. Impact: A bout of strep throat kept Brown from the team's two games before the All-Star break, and he found himself on the bench for Friday's second-half opener as well. He makes for a somewhat intriguing daily play Saturday against Aaron Harang, against whom he's 4-for-8 in his career, but Brown will likely be relegated to a part-time role moving forward after he hit .227/.279/.329 in the first half.(RotoWire, )

News: Brown (illness) is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Braves, CSN Philadelphia reports. Impact: Brown will come off the bench for the third straight game, dating back to last weekend before the All-Star break. He was suffering from strep throat prior to the break, and it's possible he's still dealing with the condition. Brown has struggled overall this season but is hitting .273 with eight RBI in 33 July at-bats. He's notched just two extra-base hits, however, to go with seven strikeouts. The Phillies will go with Ben Revere, Marlon Byrd and Grady Sizemore in the outfield Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: Brown has been scratched from Saturday's lineup with an illness, Kevin Cooney of the Buck County Courier Times reports. Impact: Grady Sizemore will bat leadoff and start in left field, while Ben Revere bats eighth and starts in center. The illness will likely just leave Brown day-to-day, but he's also in danger of losing playing time to Sizemore, who is expected to draw four or five starts per week.(RotoWire, )

News: Brown is at risk of losing playing time with Grady Sizemore expected to join the Phillies within the next week, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Impact: Manager Ryne Sandberg said Sizemore will play four or five times a week. In order for that to happen, Brown will likely see his playing time reduced. Sizemore will also likely be used to give Ben Revere and Marlon Byrd days off. Brown has hit just .227/.278/.330 with six home runs in 300 at-bats.(RotoWire, )

News: Brown had a fine night at the plate Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored and clubbing his sixth home run of the year in the Phillies' 9-7 win over the Brewers. Impact: It has been a difficult year for Brown after a fantastic breakout campaign in 2013, as he still just owns a meager .227/.278/.330 slash line in 300 at-bats this season. Brown, though, is 8-for-23 in his last seven games.(RotoWire, )
