News: Span went 1-for-3 Wednesday with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Impact: The steals give him 20 on the year, and his bunt single in the eighth inning kicked off the game-winning rally for the Nats. He's now got a ridiculous .458 OBP in July, and his .363 batting average, 19 runs scored and seven SBs on the month aren't too shabby either. Span will eventually cool down, but at the moment he's the most dangerous leadoff hitter on the planet.(RotoWire, )

News: Span walked a whopping four times in Sunday's win over the Reds, scoring one run. Impact: The Nats were especially patient Sunday against starter Mat Latos, with Span leading the way like a prototypical leadoff hitter should do. Sunday's game pushed his OBP up to .344, which isn't amazing but is definitely above average.(RotoWire, )

News: Span went 4 for 5 in Friday's 4-1 win at Cincinnati. Impact: Span has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 18 for 36 with seven runs and three steals.(STATS, 5:43pm)
Fri. July 25, 2014
News: Span was 4-for-5 with a run scored, one RBI, and a stolen base in Washington's win over the Reds on Friday night. Impact: That's back-to-back four-hit games, and stolen bases have been included each night (he now has 18 on the year). He's red-hot right now and should provide plenty of spark at the top of the Nationals lineup while giving his fantasy owners a boost as well.(RotoWire, )
Thu. July 24, 2014
News: Span was 4 for 5 - all singles - with his 20th RBI of the season in Tuesday's 6-4 loss at Colorado. Impact: Span is 14 for 31 over his last seven games, though 13 of those 14 hits were singles.(STATS, 5:17pm)
Thu. July 24, 2014
News: Span went 4-for-5 Wednesday with an RBI, two runs scored and his 17th stolen base of the season. Impact: That extends his on-base streak to 19 games, and boosts his July slash line to .357/.423/.414. Span is arguably the hottest leadoff man in the majors at the moment, so keep rolling with him while the good times last.(RotoWire, )
Mon. July 21, 2014
News: Span went 2-for-4 with a walk in Sunday's win over the Brewers. Impact: He's been a terror at the top of the Nationals' lineup recently, reaching base at least twice in each of the six games sandwiched around the All-Star break (hitting .440 with a cool .500 OBP over that stretch). His overall slash line on the season is still a pedestrian .279/.328/.393, but those numbers should continue to rise as the red-hot Span leads the Nats into Denver on Monday.(RotoWire, )
Sat. July 19, 2014
News: Span went 3 for 4 with a steal in Friday's loss to the Brewers. Impact: Span has reached base in 14 straight games, batting .333 with 11 runs scored.(STATS, 2:26pm)
Sat. July 19, 2014
News: Span didn't miss a beat coming out of the All-Star break, going 3-for-4 on Friday with his 16th stolen base of the season. Impact: Unfortunately, the bats behind Span were mostly quiet, and he didn't score a run in a 4-2 loss. He's now hitting .333/.396/.396 in 48 July at-bats.(RotoWire, )
