News: Salazar was impressive in his first big league start in more than two months, limiting Minnesota to a run and six hits while striking out six over five innings of an 8-2 road win Tuesday. Impact: Salazar was pegged by many pundits before the season as a potential candidate for a breakout season, but he struggled in his first nine major league outings this season. He came into Tuesday's start just 1-4 with a 5.53 ERA in eight games.(STATS, 1:38pm)

News: Salazar pitched five solid innings, allowing just one run on six hits and three walks while striking out six batters and picking up his second win (2-4) of the year Tuesday in the Indians' 8-2 victory over the Twins. Impact: After spending nearly two months in the minors, Salazar fared well in his return to the rotation Tuesday. While he has some control issues to overcome(20 walks in 45.2 innings pitched), Salazar does have great strikeout potential, too, as he does have 53 K's in those 45.2 innings. He still has work to do, as he owns a mediocre 5.12 ERA and 1.64 WHIP on the season. Salazar is next scheduled to take the mound Sunday in Kansas City.(RotoWire, )

News: Salazar was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to start Tuesday's game against the Twins. Impact: As expected, Salazar will temporarily hold the spot of Justin Masterson in the rotation. He'll look to start anew this time around after going 1-4 with a 5.53 ERA in eight starts for the Indians earlier this season. At Triple-A, Salazar posted a 3-6 record with a 4.02 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 10 starts.(RotoWire, )

News: Salazar will be called up to start Tuesday's game against the Twins, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports. Impact: With Justin Masterson on the disabled list, the Indians will rely on Salazar to temporarily patch a hole in the rotation, but he'll have an ample opportunity to earn a more permanent place on the staff with a strong outing. Salazar faltered mightily in his first eight turns with the Indians (1-4, 5.53 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) and didn't fare much better at Triple-A Columbus (3-6, 4.02 ERA, 1.52 WHIP in 10 starts), but his big strikeout potential will forever make him intriguing if he can hold his propensity for getting hit hard in check.(RotoWire, )
