News: Haren has been told by the Dodgers that they will skip his next scheduled start, Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles reports. Impact: Haren is coming off another disappointing outing Wednesday, in which he allowed five earned runs on four hits and three walks on his way to picking up his eighth loss of the year. The right-hander now owns a 4.49 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 92:26 K:BB ratio over 122.1 innings, numbers that simply aren't getting it done for a team with expectations as high as the Dodgers. His record now sits at 8-8, representing a fall from grace since the month of April, when he was 4-0 with a 2.03 ERA. The recent announcement means that the Dodgers won't send the 33-year-old Haren to the hill until at least August 2, although their options outside of Haren don't look particularly promising. Paul Maholm doesn't represent a sizeable improvement, and the three most likely candidates at Triple-A all have an ERA that is currently hovering around 5.00. Whether or not this move means that the Dodgers are aggressively trying to acquire a pitcher before the July 31 deadline remains to be seen.(RotoWire, )

News: Haren struggled on Friday facing the Cardinals as he gave up three runs while walking two and striking out four in 4.2 innings pitched. Impact: The Dodgers' veteran pitcher got pulled in the fifth inning after throwing 99 pitches in taking his seventh loss on the year. Haren has now lost his last three decisions to drop his record to 8-7 on the year, while seeing his ERA climb to 4.30. Haren is among the league leaders in homers allowed (20) this season. He next takes the mound in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.(RotoWire, )
