News: Gentry (concussion) took batting practice Monday, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports. News: Gentry (concussion) hit off a tee and will shag fly balls prior to Friday's game, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: According to the report, Gentry is feeling "immensely" better, after experiencing headaches and exhaustion for several weeks after suffering the concussion. It's great news, but it's uncertain whether Gentry would be able to play in a postseason series, though he said he's going to do all he can to try to be ready.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry (concussion) is viewed as a "long shot" to play again this season, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports. Impact: This report doesn't officially rule Gentry out for the playoffs, but it does seem that that outfielder won't be able to contribute much more during the regular season. The 30-year-old hasn't played since Sept. 9, posting a .254/.319/.289 slash line on year. He does have 20 stolen bases, but it remains to be seen whether the As will be comfortable enough to deploy his prowess on the basepaths if they make the postseason.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry (concussion) has not been cleared to play but is feeling better of late, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: Genry has been out since Sept. 9 and it remains to be seen whether or not he'll return to action in 2014. His headaches have reduced and he has more energy, but Gentry is yet to resume any sort of baseball activities, so a return before the end of the season still seems like somewhat of a longshot.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry's concussion recovery hasn't been going as planned, and he risks missing the remainder of the regular season, Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: Gentry has been out of action since Sept. 9, and considering the fact that he has yet to resume baseball activities, it appears unlikely that he'll return prior to the conclusion of the regular season. The A's are just barely hanging on to a Wild Card spot at the moment, and if they end up advancing to the playoffs, there's a chance Gentry could be available as early as the ALDS. Until then, look for Coco Crisp to start whenever he's able, with Sam Fuld also seeing extra work in the outfield.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry (concussion) still hasn't resumed any baseball activities, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports. Impact: Gentry has been shut down for well over a week now as a result of a concussion, suffered in a collision with White Sox second baseman Carlos Sanchez. With no timetable for him to start back up with baseball activities, a return this season for Gentry is looking iffy, at best.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry (concussion) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. Impact: Gentry will miss his ninth straight start Friday, and it's uncertain whether he'll be available in any capacity for the final two games against Philadelphia. The 30-year-old is battling sinus issues on top of his lingering concussion symptoms.(RotoWire, )

News: Gentry is now dealing with sinus issues in addition to his lingering concussion symptoms, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. Impact: It's been a week now since Gentry suffered a concussion in a collision with White Sox second baseman Carlos Sanchez, and it sounds like he's yet to completely shake the cobwebs. There is no set timetable for Gentry's return to action, but manager Bob Melvin did confirm that he will not be available off the bench Tuesday.(RotoWire, )
