News: Gillaspie said he would be open to playing the outfield next season, at least on a part-time basis, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: Before the 2014 season, it would have been difficult to believe that Gillaspie would hold onto the third base gig all season long. However, his high batting average and Matt Davidson's struggles at Triple-A Charlotte have kept the job in his hands. However, Davidson or Marcus Semien could make a push next spring, so defensive versatility could be an asset for Gillaspie.(RotoWire, )

News: Gillaspie went 1-for-3 with a grand slam, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Toronto. Impact: Gillaspie, hitting .311/.363/.456 on the season, hasn't been enjoying the most productive of months, so Sunday's big day at the plate was most welcome to fantasy owners. After hitting .333 with four homers and 11 RBI in July, Gillaspie is hitting just .255 in August.(RotoWire, )
