News: An MRI Tuesday on Crisp's injured neck showed no reason for him to need a stay on the DL, although the team is still uncertain when he will be able to return to the lineup, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports. Impact: He will remain in the Bay Area until the A's return from the current road trip, which concludes Wednesday in Houston. The hope is that Crisp can return to the lineup this weekend against the Royals, but that has yet to be determined. Recent call-up Billy Burns will provide the A's with elite speed in center field and on the base paths while Crisp is sidelined.(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp (neck) underwent an MRI on his ailing neck Monday, John Hickey of the Oakland Tribune reports. Impact: The Athletics expect to receive the results of the exam Tuesday, after which the club will determine whether or not he'll require a stint on the DL. With Crisp unavailable for the next several days and Craig Gentry already on the disabled list, the Athletics purchased the contract of Billy Burns on Monday. He'll give the Athletics an infusion of speed on the bases and excellent defense in center while Crisp is unavailable.(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp has been sent back to the Bay Area for more exams on his neck and will not likely play in the A's three-game series in Houston, CSN Bay Area reports. Impact: This all dates back to Crisp crashing into the wall on May 7. "It's just lingering," manager Bob Melvin said of Crisp's injury. "We felt like we were getting over the hurdle a little bit, but the last couple nights not so much. We sent him back to see the same doctors that were dealing with the neck issue."(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers. Impact: Crisp has started three of the last four contests for the A's, but will take a seat in favor of Craig Gentry on Sunday night. Crisp is just 3-for-27 at the plate since the All-Star break, so a maintenance day was likely in order.(RotoWire, )

News: Updating a previous report, Crisp is out of Sunday's lineup due to a neck issue, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports. Impact: Crisp missed a stretch of four games earlier this month due to neck and ankle issues, and it appears the neck ailment may have resurfaced. It's unclear if this is more serious than the last time around, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Crisp miss another game or two. Craig Gentry will continue to man center field for the duration of Crisp's absence.(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp is not in the lineup Friday, the Bay Area News Group's John Hickey reports. Impact: He'll get a day off after starting every game for a week, with Yoenis Cespedes patrolling center field Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp (ankle) is in the lineup Saturday versus the Orioles, acting as the DH and batting leadoff. Impact: Prior to Friday's contest, manager Bob Melvin relayed that Crisp remained day-to-day due to his recovering ankle, despite his status in center field and atop the lineup. Crisp proceeded to go 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, toughing out the ailment. Until he takes a seat, assume that he'll start most days.(RotoWire, )

News: Crisp (ankle) is still considered day-to-day by manager Bob Melvin, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports. Impact: He's batting leadoff and playing center field Friday after resting for more than a week, but he will presumably get some more days off sprinkled in during the next couple weeks, which makes him difficult to start in weekly leagues.(RotoWire, )
Fri. July 18, 2014
News: Crisp (ankle) is back in the A's lineup Friday, batting leadoff and playing center field. Impact: He had the All-Star break and the four preceding games off, so Crisp should be fresh, and while he has the tendency to get banged up on a regular basis, he should be considered healthy for now.(RotoWire, )
