News: Buchholz pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and walking none while striking out six in Sunday's win over the Rays. It was his second straight quality start and fourth in his last five outings. Impact: It was a very efficient Buchholz, who threw just 98 pitches and got first-pitch strikes on 23 of 29 batters. He dropped all of his pitches in for strikes. His recent stretch of good pitching comes on the heels of a four-start stretch when he was lit up for 23 runs in 22 innings. We got the good Buchholz on Sunday, but it's just as likely we get the bad one when he next takes the hill Friday against the Blue Jays. And therein lies the problem with Buchholz. Consistency. It's something the Red Sox will be looking for during the final month of the season.(RotoWire, )

News: Buchholz pitched well in a no-decision Monday, holding the Rangers to three runs in 8.1 innings. Impact: Buchholz's performance was a nice rebound from his six-run dud against the Angels his last time out. It's been a rough go of things for Buchholz this season, as the strong start lowered his ERA to 5.77 — the lowest point it's hit in more than a month. He'll try to keep the success rolling against the Rays this weekend.(RotoWire, )

News: Buchholz gave up six runs on seven hits over six innings against the Angels on Wednesday. Impact: The inconsistency continues for Buchholz, who appeared to make progress his last time out thanks in large part to improvements with his curveball. Barring a change of course from the Red Sox, he'll get two chances to take the ball next week, beginning Monday in Toronto before a second spin in Tampa Bay on August 31.(RotoWire, )
