News: Colabello saw a hand specialist on Wednesday, during which he underwent an MRI, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Impact: Colabello suffered the thumb injury all the way back on April 23, and he was never quite the same since. He had been hitting .346 prior to getting jammed by a Grant Balfour sinker, but proceeded to go on an 8-for-73 slump that led to his demotion to Triple-A. After collecting 27 RBI in April, the 30-year-old drove in just 12 more runs for the remainder of the season. Despite making an effort to treat the issue, Colabello's future with the Twins remains uncertain, as the team will have to decide by Nov. 20 whether to keep him on the 40-man roster, or make a move to allocate space for some younger prospects. If the two sides choose to part ways, playing overseas is one possibility for Colabello.(RotoWire, )
