News: Sabathia underwent season-ending knee surgery Wednesday, Anthony McCarron of the New York Daily News reports. Impact: The cleanup procedure reportedly went "as planned," and Sabathia is expected to make a full recovery ahead of spring training. That said, Sabathia will likely need microfracture surgery on the knee at some point down the line, and he admits he'll likely continue to be bothered by swelling in the knee, but the left-hander still expects to pitch for at least a few more seasons.(RotoWire, )

News: Sabathia (knee) won't undergo microfracture surgery and is thus expected to be ready for spring training next season, reports. Impact: Sabathia will likely need the microfracture surgery somewhere down the line, but for now, he'll merely undergo an arthroscopic procedure, which should only require 6-to-8 weeks of recovery. The big lefty conceded that he'll likely be bothered by occasional swelling in the knee but still expects to pitch for at least a few more seasons. Between the added injury risk and downward trend in his velocity, Sabathia won't be drafted as an ace next season.(RotoWire, )

News: Sabathia (knee) will not pitch again this season, according to general manager Brian Cashman, Newsday's Anthony Rieber reports. Impact: This comes as no surprise, as Sabathia's career could be over too, according to various reports earlier this month. He will have season-ending surgery to clean out the knee on July 23, and he can be dropped in all single-season leagues.(RotoWire, )
