News: Harper is out of the lineup Monday against the Rockies. Impact: Harper had just been starting to heat up, going 6-for-14 at the plate with a double and a home run over his last four games. However, with lefty Franklin Morales on the hill for the Rockies, manager Matt Williams will move Ryan Zimmerman to left field, send Anthony Rendon to the hot corner and start Danny Espinosa at second base in order to give Harper a day of rest.(RotoWire, )

News: Harper went 3 for 4 with a homer in Friday's loss to the Brewers. Impact: Harper's at-bats and body language have been heavily scrutinized. You should cut the kid some slack since he is 21 years old and still learning what it takes to succeed in the big leagues.(STATS, 2:27pm)

News: Harper was 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a losing effort against the Brewers on Friday night. Impact: After missing all of May and June with a thumb injury, Harper has yet to get his groove back. The home run - it came in the ninth inning - was just his third of the season, and he has just 12 RBI. The three hits did boost his average to .260, but the Nationals need more productive games like this from their young slugger if they want the NL East title.(RotoWire, )

News: Harper is out of the Nationals' lineup Saturday against the Phillies. Impact: Harper, who finally hit his second home run of the season Friday to break out of a 0-for-15 slide, will give way to Scott Hairston on Saturday after starting 10 straight games. It makes sense, as Harper seemed to be pressing a bit Friday -- he saw just five pitches in four at-bats -- and Hairston is 15-for-38 (.395 average) with five homers in his career against Hamels.(RotoWire, )

News: Harper was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a losing effort against the Phillies on Friday night. Impact: Harper tore a ligament in his thumb in late April and missed all of May and June, so his numbers are understandably low with just two home runs and 11 RBI to go with a lackluster .246 average. However, he did put on a bit of a power display at the end of his rehab assignment, so there's hope he'll get settled back in and produce the kind of firepower he is capable of when healthy.(RotoWire, )

Impact: The left-handed hitting Harper went 0 for 4 Friday against now former Cubs right-hander Jason Hammel in Washington's 7-2 loss. Moved down to sixth, Anthony Rendon was 1 for 4 with a double. Since his return, Harper is 3 for 15 with an RBI and two runs scored.(STATS, 3:46pm)
