News: Morrow (finger) will likely be used as a reliever when he rejoins the Jays this season, the team's official website reports. "If I was to say right now, today, when [Morrow] comes back he'll probably be a reliever," Jays manager John Gibbons said. "But by then, you never know what we're looking at anyways. We may need a starter, we don't know as a team where we're going to be at that point." Impact: Morrow isn't expected back until September, and he may not have time to stretch out as a starter. While the Jays could quite clearly use some help in the rotation, Morrow is more likely to make an impact pitching out of the bullpen.(RotoWire, )

News: Morrow (finger) has headed to the Jays' extended spring training facility in Dunedin, Fla. to continue his throwing program, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports. Impact: With the Blue Jays embarking on a road trip, Morrow will remain under the watchful eye of team trainers while he continues to recover from a torn tendon sheath in his finger. Manager John Gibbons said the team doesn't anticipate Morrow returning until September as a result of the lengthy layoff of game action. In addition, with the Blue Jays in the thick of the AL East race, the team may force Morrow to assume a bullpen role, rather than relying on him to chew up meaningful innings as a member of the rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Morrow (finger) will head to Florida to resume his rehab program once the Jays go on the road, SportsNet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports. Impact: He threw off flat ground Friday, and says he'll only need surgery if he tears his sheath again. He is an option for relief or the rotation upon his return to Toronto, but fantasy owners have most likely been burned too many times by Morrow over the years to get excited about his eventual activation.(RotoWire, )
