He scattered nine hits and issued one walk, while striking out three batters. Impact: Although not as good Tuesday as he has been in his previous starts with the Yankees, McCarthy nonetheless has now won three games in a row. The trade from Arizona has certainly revitalized his season, as McCarthy now sports a 2.55 ERA and 20:4 K:BB ratio with the Yankees. News: McCarthy improved to 2-0 in pinstripes Thursday, tossing six innings and allowing just a run on four hits against Texas. He struck out five and walked two. Impact: McCarthy played for the Rangers as recently as 2009, but only Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre remain in the lineup from those days. In any case, McCarthy has now given up just one earned run in each of his three starts with the Yankees, and the team's won every game. He'll head down to Texas to rematch the Rangers on Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: McCarthy earned his first win for New York with an impressive debut in pinstripes to send the Yankees past the Reds 7-1 on Saturday. Impact: McCarthy struck out nine and walked none over six innings in his second start for New York. McCarthy threw 71 of 99 pitches for strikes, improving to 3-0 with a 1.78 ERA in his last four outings after winning only once in his initial 16 starts this season. Told his wife, Amanda, tweeted several wisecracks about all the highway congestion that delayed her arrival at the ballpark, McCarthy could only smile. (STATS, 5:38pm)

News: McCarthy earned his first win as a Yankee by limiting the Reds to one run on six hits over six innings Saturday. He fanned nine and didn't issue a walk. Impact: McCarthy cruised to his third win of the season, with the only real hiccup coming in the fifth inning when he served up a solo homer to Chris Heisey. The right-hander's advanced stats suggest he's pitched much better than his 4.63 ERA and 1.37 WHIP indicate, and after this performance, he'll likely be a popular pickup in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.(RotoWire, )
