News: Butler is out of the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Twins. Impact: Butler has posted decent numbers against Twins starter Kevin Correia (6-for-20), but Raul Ibanez's are even better (6-for-14 with a homer), so manager Ned Yost will put the DH tag on Ibanez on Thursday in the series finale against Minnesota.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's win over the Indians. Impact: That's two consecutive games that Butler has gone yard. Saturday's blast – just his fifth of the year – put the Royals ahead for good. He turned on a Nick Hagadone fastball and parked it into the left field seats. Butler's home run was his third in July after just two in the prior three months.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler is not in the lineup Friday against the Indians, Josh Vernier of FOX Sports KC reports. Impact: Manager Ned Yost suggested as much Thursday, but Butler, who's currently in the midst of a 3-for-23 slump, will sit Friday as Raul Ibanez mans first and Nori Aoki serves as the DH against right-hander Josh Tomlin. Eric Hosmer is currently nursing a hand injury, so Yost may be forced to turn back to Butler in the coming days, but the skipper finally seems to have seen enough of the 28-year-old.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler will lose time at DH in the coming days, according to manager Ned Yost, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Impact: Butler may have finally pushed Yost just enough, as he's 3-for-20 at the dish in his last six games, bringing his season average down to .266 with a mere three home runs. This simply isn't enough production out of a guy who had been penciled in as an everyday cleanup hitter at the beginning of the year, so Yost will start to exercise other options. Both Danny Valencia and Raul Ibanez stand to see DH reps in place of Butler. However, if Eric Hosmer's hand injury doesn't soon improve, Yost may be forced to get Butler in the lineup at first base anyway. Either way, this announcement is a clear red flag for Butler owners.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler is out of the lineup Wednesday vs. the White Sox, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Impact: Forced to man first base the previous two games while Eric Hosmer nursed a hand injury, Butler will receive the day off entirely for rest purposes with the Royals playing a day game after a night game. A healthy Hosmer will resume duties at first base, while Danny Valencia takes over Butler's usual DH role.(RotoWire, )
