News: Chapman felt strong even after pitching his fourth inning in three days Saturday. Impact: He was unavailable to pitch Sunday in a win over Atlanta, but after Monday's off day he should be available to pitch again if needed Tuesday. Given his shoulder worries at the beginning of the week, the last three outings from Chapman have allayed our fears.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman fanned the three Braves batters he faced in the ninth inning Saturday for his 27th save in 29 chances. Impact: Chapman pitched two scoreless innings Friday, before dominating the ninth Saturday to pick up his 27th save of the season. Excluding his four-walk debacle at Colorado last Sunday, the All-Star closer has allowed only one earned run in the months of July and August combined.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman (shoulder) tossed a scoreless eighth inning with a pair of strikeouts in Thursday's 8-0 loss to Atlanta. He hit 100 mph on the radar, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Impact: Chapman has been dealing with an achy shoulder, so Thursday's outing was his first since Sunday's four-run meltdown. While he's not completely out of the woods yet with regard to his shoulder issue, he appears to be moving in the right direction.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman (shoulder) said that he is OK and should be good to go Wednesday against the Cardinals, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Impact: The flamethrower tested his achy shoulder with some throwing prior to Wednesday's tilt and manager Bryan Price said the soreness is gone. While Chapman deemed himself available, he should be considered day-to-day until he actually takes the hill for Cincinnati.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman (shoulder) threw on the field prior to Wednesday's game, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Impact: Meanwhile, manager Bryan Price said the shoulder soreness that prevented Chapman from being available for the first two games of the Cardinals series is gone. Price did not say explicitly that Chapman will be an option for Wednesday, but the lefty was reportedly airing it out pretty good during the throwing session, so it would seem his return is imminent.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman was unavailable out of the bullpen Monday due to an "achy" shoulder, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Impact: Chapman didn't take the hill for the Reds on Monday night, despite the fact that it was a close game that went into extra innings. He was dreadful in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, but the lack of command may be partially attributed to the soreness he's been experiencing. Manager Bryan Price didn't rule him out of pitching Tuesday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Reds hold their flamethrower out of action for another day or two. If that ends up being the case, look for Jonathan Broxton to take the mound in a save situation, if one arises.(RotoWire, )

News: Chapman was brutal in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader with the Rockies, walking four straight batters who all came around to score as the Reds blew a 9-5 ninth-inning lead. Impact: During a season in which he's otherwise been spectacular, Chapman now becomes the first MLB pitcher since 2002 to face at least four batters and walk them all, while not managing to record an out. J.J. Hoover came on to replace Chapman and did little to extinguish the fire, allowing a run-scoring sacrifice fly before surrendering a walk-off three-run homer to Drew Stubbs.(RotoWire, )
