News: Dirks was recalled from his rehab assignment Wednesday due to "low back muscular inflammation from increased activity," Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. Impact: Thus, Dirks' assignment will likely be wiped away in order to receive additional treatment from the Tigers' medical and training staffs. Prior to leaving High-A Lakeland, though, he picked up five hits, one RBI, and four runs in 16 at-bats. Consider the timetable for his season debut undetermined at this time.(RotoWire, )

News: Dirks' (back) rehab assignment was recalled by the Tigers on Wednesday. Impact: Dirks contributed five hits, one RBI, four runs, and two walks versus four strikeouts in 16 at-bats during the assignment, which was expected to last much longer than six games. Note that he hasn't been activated from the DL, so a setback may have occurred in his recovery from back surgery in March. On the other hand, the move could be procedural in order to save a day in the maximum 20 he can spend on an assignment.(RotoWire, )
