News: Avila went 1-for-3 with a solo shot in Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh. Impact: Wednesday's home was Avila's 10th of the season, just one fewer than he hit in all of 2013. Avila's overall slash line (.226/.328/.391) remains disappointing, but much like last season, the 27-year-old catcher is showing signs of life in the second half of the season. In 36 at-bats this month, Avila is hitting .306/.375/.639 with three home runs and seven RBI. He remains a risky option for shallow, one-catcher mixed leagues, but those in deeper formats may want to take a look at Avila while he's swinging a hot bat.(RotoWire, )
