News: Espinosa will get the start at shortstop Friday and possibly through the weekend with Ian Desmond nursing a sore hand, the Washington Post reports. Impact: Desmond got hit on the hand by a pitch Thursday, and while X-rays were negative, the Nationals may just elect to give him maximum rest and sit him down until the All-Star break. Espinosa's a batting-average killer, but he's always capable of an occasional home run or steal when he gets some at-bats.(RotoWire, )

News: Espinosa got the start at second base Wednesday, going 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two strikeouts. Impact: Playing in an AL park, Nats manager Matt Williams elected to put Ryan Zimmerman at DH and use his best infield defense behind Doug Fister. Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen is scheduled to start Thursday for the Orioles, so Espinosa might get another start, but now that the Nationals' roster is healthy at-bats will remain hard to come by for the infielder.(RotoWire, )
