News: Tomlin was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, MLB.com reports. Impact: Another rough outing against the Royals on Friday -- he gave up seven hits, including two homers, over 5.1 innings -- spelled at least the temporary end of Tomlin's tenure in the Cleveland rotation. He'll head down to Columbus and remain stretched out, making him the top injury-replacement option in the weeks ahead.(RotoWire, )

News: Tomlin turned in 5.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out five in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Royals. Impact: Simply put, Tomlin has been less than stellar here in July. Through four starts this month, the Indians right-hander is 0-2 with a lofty 6.44 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 22.1 innings. Tomlin will look to right the ship Thursday night versus the Mariners.(RotoWire, )

News: Tomlin allowed four earned runs in 4.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Tigers. His big mistake came when Torii Hunter knocked a fourth-inning pitch out of the park for a two-run shot. Impact: Tomlin labored through 81 pitches before getting pulled in the bottom of the fifth inning. Aside from his shutout in Seattle on June 28, he has been largely ineffective over the past month, having his ERA balloon from 3.33 to 4.43 in that time. He still sports a fantastic 72:10 K:BB ratio on the season but he has been too hittable to be anything more than a low-end option among starting pitchers.(RotoWire, )
