News: Tomlin allowed four earned runs in 4.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Tigers. His big mistake came when Torii Hunter knocked a fourth-inning pitch out of the park for a two-run shot. Impact: Tomlin labored through 81 pitches before getting pulled in the bottom of the fifth inning. Aside from his shutout in Seattle on June 28, he has been largely ineffective over the past month, having his ERA balloon from 3.33 to 4.43 in that time. He still sports a fantastic 72:10 K:BB ratio on the season but he has been too hittable to be anything more than a low-end option among starting pitchers.(RotoWire, )

News: Tomlin gave up four runs on eight hits while striking out five over seven innings Wednesday against the Yankees, but didn't factor into the decision. Impact: Tomlin pitched well, but couldn't solve Mark Teixeira, who ended up hitting two homers off of him. It's the home runs that continue to be an issue for the right-hander, as he's now given up 13 of them in 77 innings. He didn't issue a walk for the third consecutive start, however, and now boasts a 69:9 K:BB on the season. He'll wrap up the first half with a 4.21 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.(RotoWire, )
