News: Hudson allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, walking one and striking out three over 5.1 innings of a 10-3 win over the Nationals on Friday night. Impact: Hudson (9-9, 2.99 ERA) evened his record with a solid, albeit not terribly efficient (he needed 95 pitches, just 59 for strikes) outing. He is not a big strikeout producer, but he has been a nice fantasy option this year. He'll take on the Rockies at home next time out.(RotoWire, )

News: Hudson was hit hard Saturday, surrendering five runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings against the Phillies. Impact: Hudson has hit a rough patch in August, posting a 6.00 ERA in three starts. We have seen a regression since the All-Star break (1-3, 3.57 ERA) after his stellar first half (7-6, 2.87 ERA). Hudson is now 39, so it would have been amazing if he had been able to keep up his early-season success throughout the entire 162-game schedule, so this minor regression is likely a result of the veteran merely getting tired down the stretch. He is still a solid option going forward, but owners should not expect the dominant results we saw in the first half.(RotoWire, )
