News: Chavez (finger) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports. Impact: Chavez was a late scratch Saturday due to a jammed right finger and will miss Sunday's contest as well. It's not a certainty that his absence is due to injury, however, as he had been losing playing time of late to Stefen Romero, at least against left-handed pitching. Chavez may have gotten the nod Sunday against righty Miguel Gonzalez, but Corey Hart will instead take his place in right field.(RotoWire, )

Impact: The extent of the injury is uncertain, so consider Chavez day-to-day for the time being. He presumably injured himself on a headfirst slide Friday.
