News: Wood allowed four runs on eight hits, while walking two and striking out a career-high 11 over six innings, in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies. Impact: Not only did he set a career high in strikeouts, but he also set a career high in pitches with 119 (76 strikes). Unfortunately, none of it translated into a win for Wood. He's now gone eight starts without a victory, his last coming back on June 15 against the Pirates. Wood has been unable to build off of his successful 2013 season in which he posted a 3.11 ERA in 200 innings. Through 127 innings this season, he has a 5.10 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. He'll take on the Rockies yet again, this time in Coors Field, next week.(RotoWire, )
