News: Sandoval went 2-for-5 with a three-run shot in Friday's win over the Marlins. Impact: Sandoval kicked off the second half with a bang, going yard off Marlins pitcher Nate Eovaldi. After an abysmal April (.176/.265/.308), Sandoval got things going in the summer months (.272/.323/.428 pre-All-Star break). The pressure is on to have a strong second half, though, as 2014 is a contract year for the 27-year-old slugger.(RotoWire, )

News: Sandoval (elbow) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the A's, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: X-rays were negative after Sandoval was hit by a pitch on his left arm Saturday, but the Giants took precaution and held him out of the next two games entirely. On Monday, Sandoval reported that he still could not fully extend the arm, but it seems he feels well enough swinging from the left side of the plate to take on right-hander Sonny Gray.(RotoWire, )
