News: Smith is "likely" headed back to a setup role after the acquisition of Houston Street from the Padres on Friday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: This seems to just be Fletcher's opinion at this point, but it may be the logical assumption, as the Halos probably didn't give up significant pieces of their minor league system for a middle reliever. Smith has excelled in the closer's role of late, having recorded his last 10 saves in a row, but the organization apparently sees him as a better fit in a supporting role.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith pitched a scoreless inning with a strikeout en route to notching his 15th save of the season Sunday against the Rangers. Impact: Tally another one for Smith, who has now converted his last 10 opportunities in a row. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the 30-year-old became the only Angels' pitcher in history to record 10 consecutive appearances of a least one inning without giving up a hit. He will enter the All-Star break with a 2.32 ERA and an 0.89 WHIP.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith struck out two in a clean ninth inning to record his 14th save of the season against the Rangers on Saturday. Impact: Smith has been awfully impressive of late. The 30-year-old has now converted nine consecutive save opportunities and has allowed just two baserunners (one hit, one walk) in his last 10 appearances.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith hurled a 1-2-3 inning against the Rangers on Friday to notch his 13th save of the season. Impact: Smith has been tallying saves on what seems like a daily basis of late. The 30-year-old has now converted his last eight opportunities and has not allowed an earned run in his last 9.1 innings. His ERA stands at a tidy 2.43 this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Smith struck out two batters in a clean ninth inning to pick up his 12th save of the season Wednesday against the Blue Jays. Impact: Smith has been lights out for the Angels of late, having converted his last seven consecutive save chances, while also notching a win over that span. The 30-year-old appears to have established himself as the stopper in what was previously a tumultuous back end of the bullpen for the Halos.(RotoWire, )
