News: Gonzalez (knee/ankle) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Thursday, but stole his third base of the season. Impact: Although his average continued its plummet -- now to .239 -- at least CarGo's sore knee and ankle seem to be well enough for him to play the field and steal a base. One has to think he's too talented not to have a late-season resurgence, but with August about to open, he's running out of time. It's worth noting that Gonzalez is just 23-for-139 (.165) on the road this year; meanwhile, back at Coors, he's still hitting a robust .333 with a .912 OPS.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez (knee, ankle) is in the lineup Thursday against the Cubs, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Impact: Gonzalez sat out Wednesday's game after playing 12 of 16 innings Tuesday, and it was later revealed that he's still dealing with soreness in his right ankle and left knee. At this point, it does not appear as though Gonzalez is in any danger of landing back on the DL, but it's possible he could require additional maintenance in the short-term if the issues continue to linger.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez, who is out of the Rockies' lineup Wednesday, is still battling soreness in his right ankle and left knee, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Gonzalez rolled his ankle last weekend and missed the final two games of the Pirates series as a result, and it seems he still hasn't completely turned the page on the issue. Evidently, his knee is presenting problems as well, but it seems his absence Wednesday is more so about maintenance, as he was able to play 12 of 16 innings Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez is out of the Rockies' lineup Wednesday against the Cubs, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Impact: Gonzalez is 0-for-10 with four strikeouts in his career against lefty Travis Wood, Wednesday's starter for the Cubs, so manager Walt Weiss will give the nod in right field to Charlie Blackmon, with Drew Stubbs coming in to man center. The 28-year-old Gonzalez missed two games last weekend with an ankle injury, but there's been nothing to suggest the issue is lingering.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez (ankle) is back in the lineup Monday against the Cubs. Impact: Gonzalez missed back-to-back contests while nursing a sore ankle, but will return to right field Sunday night. The 28-year-old has struggled a bit since his activation from a previous DL stint, going 8-for-38 at the dish, but he does have two home runs over that span. Despite the perpetual injury concern, Gonzalez remains a threat to hit homers in bunches at any point.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez (ankle) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates. Impact: Gonzalez was a late scratch Saturday after rolling his ankle earlier in the day and will miss Sunday's contest as well. The Rockies lost Drew Stubbs to injury Saturday, leaving the team with just four outfielders available for Sunday's game.(RotoWire, )

News: Updating a previous report, Gonzalez is out of the lineup Saturday after rolling his right ankle earlier in the day, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports. Impact: Gonzalez was a late scratch from Saturday's lineup for reasons that were undisclosed at first. It's now known that his absence is caused by a minor ankle ailment, which occurred at some point during pre-game warmups and not during Friday night's tilt. He'll likely attempt to get back in action for Sunday's series finale.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez was a late scratch from Saturday's lineup, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Gonzalez was originally slated to start in right field, but was scratched in order to get Brandon Barnes into the lineup. Charlie Blackmon will take over in right, with Barnes in left and Drew Stubbs in center. At the moment, it's currently unclear if there is an injury in play or if manager Walt Weiss simply wanted to get an extra right-handed bat in the lineup against lefty Jeff Locke.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez hit his 10th homer of the season on Friday against the Pirates as he went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Impact: It's been a season to forget for Gonzalez this year (.250/.300/.448) including injury, poor play and a positional change. With 15 strikeouts in his last 36 at-bats, there seems to be no sign of consistent contact since CarGo was activated from the DL on July 11. If you've got CarGo on roster, you really have no choice but to play him.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez is out of the lineup Wednesday vs. the Nationals. Impact: Gonzalez has looked lost at the plate since returning from the a finger injury July 11, going 7-for-32 (.219) with 14 strikeouts. Even prior to missing five weeks with the ailment, Gonzalez had been hitting at far lower standards than his career norm. While his absence Wednesday is likely just for a mental rest, it's tough to bet on Gonzalez breaking out of his season-long slumber anytime soon.(RotoWire, )

July 20, 2014
News: Gonzalez supplied all the offense for the Rockies in Saturday's 3-2 loss, slugging a two-run homer in the seventh inning. Impact: Opposing starter Charlie Morton was mostly stellar against the Rockies on Saturday, but Gonzalez ensured that he walked away with a no-decision by taking the groundball specialist deep in his final inning. The homer was Gonzalez's first since being activated from the disabled list on July 11.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez was 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in the Rockies' loss to Pittsburgh on Friday night. Impact: He also left five men on base in a game the Rockies would end up losing 4-2. He was hitting in his normal three spot in the lineup in front of Troy Tulowitzki, but the pair combined to go 0-for-8 with a pair of walks, which generally does not bode well for the Colorado offense.(RotoWire, )
