News: Stewart left Sunday's game with a hand/wrist injury, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Impact: Stewart was hit on his hand on the backswing of a Johnny Cueto single and had to be removed from the game as a result. Tony Sanchez came into the game to serve as his replacement. Sanchez could be in line to see extra work if a catcher is needed in any postseason games, as fellow backstop Russell Martin is also nursing a hamstring injury.(RotoWire, )

News: X-rays on Stewart's left wrist came back negative, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports. Impact: Stewart exited Sunday's game after his hand caught the backswing in one of pitcher Johnny Cueto's at-bats. No fractures were revealed, but he does have a serious bruise on his left hand and should be considered day-to-day moving forward. Russell Martin (hamstring) will likely be ready for Wednesday's NL Wild Card matchup, but if not, Stewart would be the next choice, provided the swelling goes down.(RotoWire, )
