News: Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said he's giving Montero off Tuesday because "He's starting to get tired. I can tell," Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Impact: The decision to leave Montero on the bench for a second time in three days raised some eyebrows, but apparently there is no injury in play. Montero is coming off a June in which he posted a .842 OPS, and he's off to a respectable 6-for-22 start to July, but Gibson seems focused on keeping him at close to full strength for the long haul.(RotoWire, )

News: Montero is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins. Impact: Montero was just afforded a day of rest Sunday, but he'll sit Tuesday as Tuffy Gosewisch once again spells him behind the plate. There's been no word of an injury to the 30-year-old, but this marks the first time all season he's sat twice in a three-day stretch, so something seems slightly amiss. That said, consider it a day off until there's indication otherwise.(RotoWire, )
