News: Peralta (illness) was activated from the disabled list Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Finally over the illness that he picked up during a vacation to Dominican Republic over the All-Star break, Peralta will retake his place in late-inning relief. His subpar campaign has so far included a 4.15 ERA, 1.231 WHIP, and 44:12 K:BB in 39 frames.(RotoWire, )

News: Peralta (illness) said he's feeling "much better" Friday, and he will throw a bullpen session, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports. Impact: This isn't a big deal for fantasy purposes, as Peralta really only has value in holds leagues, but it sounds like he'll come off the DL when first eligible on July 28.(RotoWire, )

News: The Tampa Bay Rays have reinstated reliever Joel Peralta from the 15-day disabled list and designated left-hander Erik Bedard for assignment. Impact: Peralta missed nine games because of an illness. The right-hander went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in 43 games earlier this year. (STATS, 8:29pm)

News: Peralta (illness) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Peralta continues to experience fever and tiredness after contracting the chikungunya virus, which he believes occurred when he was bitten by a mosquito while in the Dominican Republic during the All-Star break. Victims of the virus usually experience symptoms for 7-to-10 days, with Peralta perhaps requiring some additional time beyond that period to regain some energy. In the meantime, the Rays will add Triple-A reliever Jeff Beliveau to their bullpen.(RotoWire, )

News: Peralta is still battling fatigue and soreness from the chikungunya virus he contracted from a mosquito over the All-Star break while visiting Venezuela, and the symptoms are severe enough that the Rays are expected to place him on the DL, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Peralta was held out of the Rays' game Sunday and has not made an appearance since the Saturday prior to the break. While Peralta has a good strikeout rate thus far, fanning 44 batters in 39 innings, he owns an undesirable 4.15 ERA. The potential call-ups if Peralta does indeed hit the DL include Brandon Gomes, Josh Lueke, Jeff Beliveau and C.J Riefenhauser.(RotoWire, )

News: Peralta is dealing with an illness and is unavailable out of the Rays' bullpen Sunday, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports. Impact: It's been a down year for Peralta, as he has an ERA over 4.00 for the first time since 2009, when he pitched for the Rockies, so this news likely doesn't have much fantasy impact. Consider him day-to-day.(RotoWire, )
