News: LaRoche is dealing with back stiffness, Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports. Impact: LaRoche was lifted for pinch-hitter Kevin Frandsen after going 0-for-3 at the dish Monday, and it sounds like the back pain was to blame. He was held out of the lineup nearly a week ago with a similar ailment, but it seems to be a bit more serious this time around. Consider LaRoche day-to-day until further tests are performed Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: LaRoche (back) is in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports. Impact: LaRoche was held out of the lineup Tuesday due to back tightness, but he managed to enter the contest later on as a pinch-hitter. He's evidently feeling better following the day out of the lineup, so he'll head back into the field to occupy his usual post at first base.(RotoWire, )

News: LaRoche (back) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his return to the lineup Wednesday. Impact: Considering that he was able to appear in Tuesday's game as a pinch-hitter, LaRoche's injury doesn't seem to be too serious. Assuming that the seven-hour flight to Seattle on Thursday doesn't cause the injury to flare up, LaRoche should be ready to roll against Felix Hernandez on Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: LaRoche is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Phillies. Impact: LaRoche's average has dropped from .276 to .266 over the last 10 games, and a day off may help him clear his head following an 0-for-4, two-strikeout performance Monday night. Kevin Frandsen will man first base in his place and bat eighth for the Nationals.(RotoWire, )

News: LaRoche is out of the lineup Tuesday due to back tightness, William Ladson of MLB.com reports. Impact: Manager Matt Williams said he expects LaRoche to return for Wednesday's finale against Philadelphia, so it seems the team is just taking precaution with the 34-year-old. LaRoche was red hot earlier this month but is just 4-for-24 (.167 average) over the past week, so he was likely due for a day off anyway.(RotoWire, )

News: LaRoche went 1-for-5 Monday with a walk-off solo home run in the 11th inning. Impact: The home run was his 19th of the season, and third in his last five games. LaRoche has bounced right back after a rough July, and now sports a .306/.419/.677 line in 62 August at-bats.(RotoWire, )
