News: Wacha (shoulder) is targeting a return to the rotation in early September, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. Impact: He plans to increase his strength exercises over the next two weeks and could be cleared for a throwing program in early August. He has been nursing a stress reaction in his right shoulder since June 17. Owners in standard single-season leagues should consider parting ways with Wacha, as he won't contribute many more innings to fantasy teams this season if he isn't coming back until September.(RotoWire, )

News: Wacha (shoulder) could be cleared to throw in approximately two weeks, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Impact: Wacha underwent an MRI and CT scan Monday, later stating that the results were "encouraging." He hasn't yet been cleared to begin throwing, but will be allowed to "ramp up" his pre-throwing program as early as Tuesday. Once actual throwing begins, the 23-year-old righty will need roughly three weeks before returning to a mound, and will likely require several rehab starts. He hasn't pitched since June 17 due to a stress reaction in his right scapula, but still hopes to be able to return and contribute before the end of the season. Despite Wacha's optimism, the extended absence is not news fantasy owners would like to hear, although they may have his services just in time for the playoffs.(RotoWire, )
