News: Darvish has been cleared to start his offseason throwing program. Impact: Darvish, who missed the last seven weeks of the season because of inflammation in his right elbow, had an MRI and was examined Tuesday by team physician Dr. Keith Meister. Texas said Darvish is already going through his normal offseason training program and expects to start throwing in early December. The right-hander didn't pitch after Aug. 9. He was 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA and 182 strikeouts over 144 1-3 innings in 22 starts in his third major league season. (STATS, 6:57pm)

News: Darvish (elbow) has been cleared to begin throwing on his normal schedule, MLB.com reports. Impact: A bout of elbow inflammation ended Darvish's season in August, but the right-hander checked out in an MRI and a subsequent examination in Arlington on Tuesday. Currently restricted to a training program, he is expected to start up with his throwing early next month. Although Darvish's WHIP jumped by close to 20 points in 2014, he maintained a strikeout rate above 30 percent (30.1%) while trimming his walk rate to a career-low 8.1 percent.(RotoWire, )

News: Darvish (elbow) will have his MRI postponed until early next week, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Impact: The reason for the delay is unknown, but it likely won't impact Darvish's offseason timetable. He's had the MRI scheduled for several weeks, and a clean bill of health will allow him to go forward with his usual offseason routine, which typically doesn't involve throwing until December.(RotoWire, )
