News: Trout was the named the 2014 American League Most Valuable Player on Thursday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. Impact: Trout won the award by a unanimous vote, becoming the youngest player ever to do so and the first since Ken Griffey Jr. in 1997.
