News: Lyles (hand) tossed 3.2 scoreless innings during his rehab outing at High-A Modesto on Saturday, giving up four hits and two walks while striking out four. Impact: Lyles uncorked 70 pitches in his first start since June 5, when he suffered a fractured left hand. The pitch count was a rather high total for a player nearly two months removed from his last game action, but it illustrates the Rockies' immediate need to get competent arms into their rotation. The right-hander may need only one more minor league tune-up before returning from the disabled list, likely next week.(RotoWire, )

News: Lyles (hand) will make a rehab start for High-A Modesto on Saturday. Impact: The plan is for Lyles to make two minor league rehab starts before rejoining the Rockies' rotation Aug. 5. Barring a setback Saturday, Lyles will likely join Triple-A Colorado Springs next week to complete his assignment.(RotoWire, )

News: Lyles (hand) is on pace to return when first eligible on Aug. 4 following Tuesday's successful live bullpen session, MLB.com's Cody Ulm reports. Impact: He is looking to start a rehab assignment Saturday with High-A Modesto, and a second rehab start would come on July 31, lining him up to start for the Rockies on Aug. 5 if everything goes well. Lyles posted a 3.52 ERA in 69 innings prior to the injury, and is worth a stash in deeper leagues, though his 16.8 percent K-rate and the fact that he pitches for the Rockies diminish his upside.(RotoWire, )
