News: Lyles was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for Brett Anderson on the 40-man roster, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Lyles apparently had tests that revealed his broken hand wasn't yet healed, and he was also involved in a car accident Friday that added cuts to his face. He was placed on the disabled list June 5, so the soonest he could return at this point would be early August.(RotoWire, )

News: Lyles (hand) will begin his rehab assignment on July 18 at Double-A Tulsa, MLB.com's Cody Ulm reports. Impact: Lyles was able to test out his fractured metacarpal prior to Friday's game, fielding grounders and tossing a smooth live batting practice session. Because he hasn't pitched since June 4, the Rockies plan to have him make three total rehab starts, with the latter two tentatively scheduled for July 23 and 28. If that timetable holds, that would put Lyles on track to return to the Colorado rotation in early August. He was arguably the team's most effective starter before succumbing to the injury, going 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 12 starts.(RotoWire, )
