News: Gosselin is penciled in for a backup infield spot, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact: After a hot month of August, Gosselin struggled in September and he entered Friday with just a 7-for-31 mark in spring action. Jace Peterson appears to have the inside track at second base, but manager Fredi Gonzalez wants to maximize the versatility of his bench, and Gosselin can play both the infield and the corner outfield. With Gosselin looking like a good bet to break camp with the club, that leaves Kelly Johnson, Joe Terdoslavich, Zoilo Almonte, Eury Perez and Todd Cunningham to compete for the final two bench spots.
