News: Cabrera (finger) will likely bat second for the White Sox in 2015, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Sandwiched between leadoff man Adam Eaton and No. 3 hitter Jose Abreu, Cabrera should provide a similar spread of runs scored and RBI to his 2014 numbers in the potent Toronto lineup. If he's able to sustain last season's production, Cabrera should prove to be an undervalued commodity yet again in many drafts this spring.

News: A person with direct knowledge of the deal says the Chicago White Sox have finalized a $42 million, three-year contract with free-agent outfielder Melky Cabrera. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Monday on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the agreement.
Impact: The busy White Sox scheduled a news conference for Tuesday to introduce offseason acquisitions Jeff Samardzija and David Robertson, and the team could announce Cabrera's deal at the same time. The 30-year-old Cabrera could slot in quite nicely behind Eaton in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. He hit .301 with 16 homers and 73 RBIs with Toronto last season.

News: Cabrera (finger) agreed to a three-year, $43.5 million contract with the White Sox, MLB.com reports.
Impact: Cabrera will likely play left field and hit near the top of the order. He adds to an active White Sox offseason that already saw signings of David Robertson and Adam LaRoche, as well as a trade for Jeff Samardzija. Cabrera had his 2014 season end early due to surgery for a broken finger, but he's expected to be ready by spring training.
